Dr Jackie Mallia

Jackie Mallia, owner of Equinox Legal (part of the Equinox Group), obtained her Doctorate of Laws at the University of Malta and continued her studies at Queen Mary, University of London, specialising in IT Law. She has since worked extensively on matters relating to emerging technologies, intellectual property, licensing, electronic commerce, online gaming and data protection (GDPR). Dr. Mallia has also drafted the regulatory frameworks for Commonwealth countries in the fields of telecommunications, cybercrime, digital evidence, electronic commerce, electronic signatures and data protection and has been engaged by several DGs of the European Commission on technology-related legal assignments. Her current focus is on AI, blockchain, IOT and other disruptive technologies.
