Godfrey Vella has decades of experience in the ICT field, both in the private and public sectors. He has led a number of ICT companies and has been responsible for several complex ICT projects with responsibility for all aspects including technical, managerial, financial and regulatory. He started his career in the ICT sector as an instructor with a major American computer company and spent twenty years as a visiting lecturer in IT at the University of Malta.
He is a board member of the Malta Communications Authority and currently chairs the National Commission for Further and Higher Education. In the 90s he also chaired the first National Commission for Information Technology and more recently the Governing Board for Digital Malta.
He holds a degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Malta and a Masters Degree in Computer Science from London University specialising in Knowledge Based Systems and Large Database Design.
